  • What should I expect from my first therapy session?
    Your first individual therapy session is an opportunity for you to ask questions about the therapy process and about me and my approach. It is also an opportunity for me to learn more about you, including what brings you to therapy and your potential goals. I will likely ask you many questions that helps to create some context around how therapy can be beneficial- you are free to answer them (or not!). Meeting a new therapist can be daunting, but I hope to make your experience as comfortable as possible!
  • Do I have to book an initial consultation?
    It is not required that you book a consultation before your initial session, however, consultations can help you decide if I'm a good fit for you and your needs!   • Are sessions in-person or online?
    Currently, individual therapy is offered online only. Upon booking, you will receive information and a link for virtual sessions provided through the Jane App, a secure online system used by many healthcare practitioners. In-person options are available for educational seminars. If you are looking to have me speak at a group event for your business, school, or organization, this can be done virtually or in-person at your location.
  • How do I book a therapy session?
    There are a few ways you can book a session. You can click "book online" at the top of the homepage, which will take you directly to my booking calendar. Alternatively, you can send me an email at nicolearmstrongtherapy@gmail.com or send me an inquiry at the bottom of the homepage. If you are interested in group therapy or booking a speaking engagement, please email me.
  • Will my insurance cover my session?
    While OHIP does not cover sessions with Registered Psychotherapists, many private insurance providers do. Please check with your provider to find out more about coverage. Receipts will be provided upon payment for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
  • How much do sessions cost?
    Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes and cost 125.00 + HST. You can pay by credit card or e-transfer following your session and a receipt will be provided. For group therapy or in-person seminars, please reach out directly at nicolearmstrongtherapy@gmail.com for fee details.
